M&Ms World in Las Vegas

Ever had someone ask, “Why are you bringing your kids to Las Vegas?” Well, in my case, I think my friends just stop asking, because they know my kids are always in tow. From Bourbon Street to the Casinos in Las Vegas. If I have been there, they have been there. My kids have been to Vegas three summers in a row! There is no need to deprive them from the opportunity and bliss of wandering.Visiting Vegas with kids soon? Well, here is a few suggestions that will make you change the notion that Vegas is not for kids. This list is in no particular order, they are all my favorite.

1. Seven Magic Mountains These colorful rocks were a hit with my kids and I. We absolutely loved the free standing, colorful, vibrant, electrifying art structure! I think I found my happy place. If it wasn't so hot, I would have sat there and just stared at the beautiful colors all afternoon. The kids will definitely find it interesting.

Who brought all these colorful rocks in the middle of the desert? -Karli A giant unicorn-Mom

Fremont Street Vegas Experience

2. Fremont Street Experience Looking for the thrill of old Vegas? Look no further than the Fremont Street Experience. The kids will be amazed by the bright lights and out of this world entertainment. There are street performers, an inexpensive souvenir shop, a zip line and Fear of the Walking Dead Experience.

3. Red Rock Canyon This is my absolute favorite area near Las Vegas. It makes you remember that you are actually in the desert , a reality from all the lights action the Las Vegas Blvd displays. There are educational activities and displays at the visitor center, you can take the scenic drive around Red Rock Canyon and admire the beautiful landscape. There are over 20 hikes to choose from. You can read about the hike my family chose here. The kids will definitely enjoy the guided hikes with the park ranger. Don’t forget to print out your Every Kid In a Park pass https://www.nationalparks.org/our-work/campaigns-initiatives/every-kid-parkPark pass for free entry. 4. New York New York Imagine seeing a huge replica of the Statue of liberty , but you aren't in New York City. Imagine riding a roller coaster located on top of a hotel. Well that’s exactly what you get at New York New York hotel and casino. There is plenty of entertainment for kids to enjoy. The Big Apple Coaster is a big hit as well as the arcade.

5. Hershey's Chocolate World Las Vegas Just a short walk over from New York New York is the Hershey Chocolate World store. Chocolate, chocolate, oh yea, and more chocolate! Need I say more. You can do everything from viewing a chocolate sculpture to personalizing candy for you or someone special. Don’t forget to grab a sweet dessert from the Hershey Bake Shop.

M&Ms World

6. M&M World Las Vegas Oh the colors! This place is four floors high of M&M madness. Again buying chocolate treats is a must. You have over 100 choices to choose from when creating your combination of M&Ms. You can personalize items from champagne to a deck of cards. You can even catch a 3D movie.

Circus Circus Hotel

7. Circus Circus I was completely amazed by Circus Circus hotel and casino. This place has an entire amusement park inside. There is also a free magic show. You can, literally, spend a whole day here.

8. Bellagio Fountains These fountains sprout to the beat of the music. Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” is just one songs off the long list the fountains coordinate with. Right out of a Disney movie, right? Yet it's located ,there, in the center of the Las Vegas strip. “O” by Cirque du Soleil is another great form of entertainment located at this hotel.

9. Town Square Children Park and Playground This ultramodern playground includes a tree house ,a fountain, playhouse, a hedge maze, and a children’s stage. The children have their own restrooms and lots of shade for those hot summer days. The best part is, dad can watch the kids while mom shops!

10. Mirage Volcano Eruption A volcano in the middle of the city?! Yep, you heard correctly. This spectacular showcase erupts nightly and is sure amaze any kid; adults as well. You can also visit the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat and watch dolphins, white tigers, white lions and leopards.

11. Bodies ...The Exhibition If you have older kids that are interested in anatomy, then this is the place for them. Warning, it can be gruesome to someone who doesn’t really like that kind of stuff. This exhibit of real bodies showcases the dissected anatomy. This was one of my favorites, but I am biased because I am a nurse.

12. Hoover Dam This National Historic Landmark is just a short drive from Las Vegas. You can pay for a tour inside the plant or simply gaze at the structure, which stands more than 725 feet above the Colorado River, for free! Skip the paid parking and drive over to the free parking area. Your walk will be a bit further but you won't even notice it. You'll be too amazed by the huge dam situated in the Colorado river.

13. Grand Canyon Sky Walk This wonder is only two and a half hours away, but well worth the drove. Walk across a glass structure above the Grand Canyon. Sorry guys, I did not participate in this attraction due to my ever nagging fear of heights. I opted to visit the more stable areas of the Grand Canyon National Park. The Grand Canyon National Park Visitor Center is located about 270 miles from Vegas ( 4 and 1/2 hours). But don’t let my fear of heights stop you from experiencing the once on a lifetime adventure. Your Every Kid in a Park pass is valid here for free entrance through the visitor center.

14. If all else fails, you can definitely make a day out of staying at the pool at your resort. Our preferred resort is Grandview at Las Vegas . This resorts has 5 pools, including a kiddie specific pool. There are also 5 hot tubs. This is like home, away from home. It is located about 6 miles away from the action of the Las Vegas Strip, so it is close enough and far enough from the rush. There is also a shuttle for easy access the core of Las Vegas Boulevard. You can find great deals for this resort. And if you indulge in timeshare meetings like us, they offer a package at a discounted rate.

This, by far,is not everything there is for kids to do in Las Vegas. The list is just all entertainment and adventures that my kids, personally, enjoyed. And because I love a good deal and stay on a budget, these activities are , in my opinion, very affordable. Most are free!
